Play MetaDash: SEO The Game 3 and correctly set your meta tags in your HTML before Googlebot comes along. launch their 3rd installment of the SEO games series. Following in the footsteps of Donkey Cutts and Chuckie Links, MetaDash: SEO the Game 3 aims to gamify the process of setting your index / no index meta tags before Googlebot arrives at your site.

With the recent news that robots.txt is celebrating its 25th birthday and that Google is withdrawing support for it from September 2019, we thought it was time for another game! 🙂 From September, you will now have to set your index / no index meta tags in your html, so you better get dashing!  You can read more about the Google changes here:

MetaDash, as per previous SEO games lets you choose your SEO Hero. You can select from Rand Fishkin, Danny Sullivan, Barry Schwartz, Marie Haynes or Will Reynolds. You then have to set the correct meta tags for each directory. They start with no settings, jump on the button once to set to no index and twice to set to index. Only the root directory should be set to index. You can leave the root grey, but you wont get as many points or have the chance to gain an end of level bonus.

You can play MetaDash: SEO the Game 3 here:

Managing Director Steve Barnes who’s had a few plays of the game said “It’s actually quite addictive. There’s some strategy to it in setting the correct meta tags whilst waiting for the robots to arrive. Then you need to keep a close eye on when 2 are coming at once to a particular directory”.

“We hope our latest game raises some awareness before the Google changes come into play in September this year”.
